The Grand Opening for the National Taiwan University AI Innovation Research Center

The current development and application of AI technology is a hot topic worldwide. The "AI Innovation Research Center" vigorously promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the Executive Yuan is one of the five major actions for AI scientific research strategy in Taiwan. Among them, the MOST Joint Research Center for AI Technology and All Vista Healthcare plans to hold a press conference on January 31 (Wednesday) at 10 am, in the first administrative building of the university. Minister Chen Liangji of the MOST, Principal Guo Dewei of National Taiwan University, and the MOST AI Innovation Research Center Office Chairman Lin Yonglong, and all other VIPs will hold a ceremony together to announce that the MOST Joint Research Center for AI Technology and All Vista Healthcare at National Taiwan University is formally activated.

The AI Innovation Research Joint Center has assigned Professor Chen Hsin-Hsi and Professor Fu Licheng as the director and co-director, who managed the two sub-centers, Artificial Intelligence Technology, and All Vista Healthcare, respectively.

The Center will combine the industry, government, academia, research, and medicine to adopt cross-field cooperation. Internally, we will aim at enhancing the energy of AI research in our country, nurturing the high-level R&D talents, enhancing the artificial intelligence industry, and promoting the research results to contribute significantly in the social and economic development. Externally, we hope that with the publication of top papers, the participation of the smart technology competition, and the leading of international conferences, we could create a world-class development platform for the artificial intelligence application materials and technologies, and further strengthen our international influence.

On the aspect of Biomedical Science, the center has aimed to boost the development and validation of various AI applications on biomedical science through the platform. With the revolutionary AI technology, the center wishes to lead the local biomedical teams to elevate the level of biomedical science in Taiwan. Together, we wish to benefit people’s health with disease assessment and monitor, disease prevention, patient-centric medical eco system, and personalized precision medicine. We also hope to establish a substantial international research cluster on AI application to biomedical science, and let the world see Taiwan’s significant medical achievement through the wave of AI.
